HYDROGEN PROPULSION
AND ICE CONFERENCE 2026
The H2ICE conference provides a technical forum for engineers, OEMs, suppliers and researchers to share the latest developments and discuss the applications and commercial viability of hydrogen-based combustion engines and powertrains.
The replacement of fossil fuels with hydrogen in internal combustion engines operation is a key area of research, with great interest for commercial vehicle manufacturers and equipment suppliers.
Since hydrogen production derives from renewable electricity, combustion engines can thus be considered as decarbonised powertrains in the same way as battery electric propulsion. Compared with EV batteries, hydrogen internal combustion engines are more affordable and fully compatible with applications requiring lengthy journeys such as heavy-duty vehicles, boats, and aircrafts, due to the limitations on equipment size and weight. However, further studies and research is still needed to resolve the remaining issues associated with hydrogen combustion processes, aftertreatment and safety.
Join to stay up to date with the latest developments in hydrogen internal combustion engine technology including engine operation, control, and integration, supported by case studies from the automotive, alternative fuels and aerospace sectors as well as from research laboratories and universities to gain insight on the current landscape and the new approaches that are being used globally.
